Supernatural fans have been waiting for Sam to be reunited with his soul ever since the Season 6 premiere, when Sam came back into Dean’s life a little bit… different.

If you were hoping for a quick recovery – don’t hold your breath. Sam and Dean have a lot of work to do before Sam’s soul is released from the cage.

In the episode “6.08 – All Dogs Go to Heaven“, Crowley promises to return Sam’s soul if the Winchesters deliver an alpha werewolf to him, but as we know, demons can’t be trusted.

Their desperate search for Sam’s soul has led the boys to a new low as they’ve started to work for Crowley, the King of Hell, but it’s about to get even worse. They’re going to have to team up with one of their oldest enemies.

Meg (Rachel Miner) kidnaps Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) and tries to force them to tell her where Crowley (guest star Mark A. Sheppard) is hiding. Sam makes her a deal – they will help her find Crowley if she promises to torture him for information about how to get Sam’s soul back. Castiel (Misha Collins) joins the fight but finds it difficult to work with Meg.

As for when we’ll see the real Sam Winchester? We’re hearing that the Winchesters will make some significant progress in the last episode before the holiday hiatus, but it won’t come without a hefty price.
